<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>matulix</b></div><div>Isn't Green dealing with some injury?</div></div>Viral infection (which the team won't name but did say it was attacking Green’s liver) that has affected him before (Aug-Sept 2018). In March 2019, Blashill said the illness “had reactivated.” Blashill added that there are no long term concerns for Green, but a specialist recommended multiple weeks of rest.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ryminister_27</b></div><div>I agree that Mantha probably isn't likely to be moved this summer. But if you seriously think that's not enough you're. Mantha is a 50 point winger, in exchange Detroit gets another winger to take his spot (Gourde), a stud young d-man (Sergachev), a very solid B prospect (Katchouk) and a cap dump that they can easily buy out... Tampa over pays on this one. Detroit takes that in a heartbeat</div></div>1)Mike Green has a full NTC until Feb 2020, so he can void the deal.
2) Mantha is not getting traded for that kind of return.
3) Callahan is going to require Tampa pay to trade him as any team does with a salary cap dump.

<strong>Newsflash, Tampa is going to have to overpay either in draft picks or in prospects to get rid of Callahan. To get Mantha they have to overpay too. </strong> Mantha's only 24 and a sniper power forward--a rarity in the NHL. He probably could do well not to getting in so many fights as he's broken his hand during fights in multiple seasons. Think what the return for older power forwards has been: Mark Stone got a top defensive prospect, a 2nd round pick, and a roster player. Wayne Simmons got Ryan Hartman (former 1st rounder) and a 2020 4th rounder. Kevin Hayes got 2019 1st rounder plus Brendan Lemieux (31st overall pick in 2014).

Tampa is in serious cap trouble with a RFA that can be target of an offer sheet (Braden Point). They have 17 more days (June 25th is the deadline for RFA not taken to arbitration) to get a deal done or other teams can jump into negotiations. The Wings don't have that time pressure to make a deal. In summer 2020 they are going to need more cap space to sign Vasilevskiy so simply getting rid of Callahan this year isn't going to be enough as they need additional money beyond that deal for bridge deals for Cirelli, Joseph, and Sergachev (which is probably why he was included in this proposed deal).
