What would a real haul be for sergy
If i was JBB, i would start with a top D prospect or a high unprotected 1st with probably a roster forward thats under 25 with term and work from there.

That's always been Coops biggest weakness as a coach I said the exact same thing with Jonathan Marchessault

20 man roster doesn't cut it can't sign Eberle For that much. They'd be better off bringing up Gonclaves and Merela and a Thompson or a Crozier for the same cap space.

I was called a fake fan because I had Tampa trading colton for the 34th pick a month ago. Some people act like that are in the war room with JBB and trust everything he says to the media as if it is the Bible. Those people are often wrong

Colton is better than barbashev, only reason he is a top six foward is because he’s on the sharks. Only reason colton is a 3rd line winger is because he is on Tampa. I agree you should be getting more value but it’s not as crazy as you make it seem

Unconventional Thinking
I wouldn't be surprised to see Sprong available as a UFA. I don't think Seattle tenders him since he has arbitration rights (If my memory is working correctly). With him not being tendered they have some space for either Kartye, Lind, or Geekie at wing.

Unconventional Thinking
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boltsradynasty</b></div><div>Clearly I am one of the people you referred to. Just think this would be trading away Marchessault or Verheaghe again and not worth it.</div></div>
No I'm not man. I agree, I wouldn't trade him either, these are just ideas/alternatives to keeping him. I love Colton. I hope that's not the case. Colton has the tools, but he has a long way to go. He has the shot power, but he's not great at shooting off the rush unless he is completely free of pressure (2 on 1 or 3 on 1 scenario), his one timer (while lethal) needs lots of work. His stickhandling is significantly worse than that of Marchy or Verhaeghe, as well as several other members currently on the roster. Point, Kuch, Hagel, Stamkos, Eyssimont, Paul. When you get to a certain point, it becomes part of your game. Very rare for someone in their late 20s or 30s to suddenly turn into Brayden Point with their ability to put the puck on a string and be comfortable in the middle of the ice. He has great puck protection, but he's very 1 dimensional with how he moves with the puck. He can cut back/buttonhook and skate linearly with the puck, but he has poor control moving laterally and cutting between defenders to get to the middle of the ice, which is his biggest problem. He's a perimeter, netfront, and below the goal line player. He's only 26 and I really don't see him in any place other than Tampa next year, but this is just a possibility to consider.

there is value
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JTBF81</b></div><div>Jeannot and Barbashev won't sign those deals. Jeannot is worth at least 1.5, and Barbashev is going to get a massive deal after the playoffs he just had. Brisebois often waits until the start of ufa or later to announce new deals on more valued players, so there's nothing that indicates Colton isn't re-signing. Tampa should also upgrade from Fleury at 3LD, as he's terrible and not an every game regular to be counted on.</div></div>
IDK, Barbashev might if it's a 1 year deal and he doesn't find what he's looking for in the market. Only $1M in cap increase leaves a lot of teams already strapped. With the Cap supposedly jumping next year...he might simply find a good home for 1 year to elevate his play and potential for a larger deal the following summer. Vegas and TBL seem like good places to sit for 1 year.

100% agreed on RC. I've posted a few trades with RC (and the dumps you have above) to CHI with a pick/prospect going back. That way Killer can be extended and get a pick for the future at the same time. It got shot down pretty hard by TBL fans.

Sharks definitely accept. Colton is someone SJ can load into the secondary core and count on when we’re competitive again…if he signs long term. Barabanov is better now but doesn’t fit with SJ long term.

It’s a gamble for sure, they could trade him now assuming he will get a lot for his potential. I think they bet on him having a monster year this upcoming year then they can trade his RFA rights if they can get a ransom for him.

I consider him untouchable but with how bad the Flyers are everyone is tradeable. They are going to want a similar package for him that they would for TK though because there is no reason to move him except for a big overpay. He’s young enough to go through a few rebuilding years and still be in his prime. He just broke out last year and now has a few more years of no pressure hockey to try and become a star in the league

Ur on the right track player profile wise I just don’t think u have the picks and prospects to get the deal done. If UFAs get signed quick, TK might be the premier winger on the market this summer which would start a bidding war and drive the price up

I agree with most of what you said. We're not GMs. I like your target for Seabrook/Myers. Considering Seabs is insured AZ should be interested. Also Agree that RFA's are going to be plenty this year. It'll be very interesting for teams that have cap space if they can grab any of those guys on longer term cheaper deals. The Hawks should have interest in Ross Colton imo. You could also send Seabs home in that deal too.

this is a true help to both teams. makes tampa third line better, with D depth and minnesota gets a scorer for all their setup guys.. colton with Zuc sounds good</div></div>
Oh I like Colton and actually think he'd be a pretty decent fit in MN. It's a decent thought for sure, but this particular deal is just a wash on Cap when you factor in the retention. There's no significant savings for that be a real factor in the equation.
I guess it kinda depends on what Colton actually comes in at. If it is closer to 2x2, there's like a 1M in change...if it's closer to 3x3, it's a wash. He turns 27 before the year, so you're buying UFA years. The RFA discount isn't gonna be massive.

Tavares. 1.12
Kubalik .9
Marchand 1.16
Panerin 1.00
HISCHIER 1.07
He may be the most underrated player on CF.</div></div>
Shame Colton's (1.09 5v5 g/60) got nothing on elite players such as Carrier (1.1 g/60), Mayhew (1.13), Malgin (1.18) and Paul frickin Cotter (1.22).
Look at me I can also quote univariate statistical rates without context :'D :'D :'D
Now if we were to compare all encompassing impacts by way of contextual modelling of Ross Colton and say, a middle 6 fwd currently with the Devils struggling to hold down a consistent spot in the starting lineup, what might that look like?
Well:
<img class="for_img" src="https://cdn.theathletic.com/app/uploads/2023/01/03121419/Screenshot-2023-04-03-at-10.52.15-AM-1536x962.png" alt="Screenshot-2023-04-03-at-10.52.15-AM-1536x962.png">

If you really believe that Colton is something that he clearly isn't, then by all means keep him.
Let Colton lead you to another cup to close out your competitive window.
The Devils will do just fine without him.
