I think Tampa loses both these trades. Why give up so much for 1.5 seasons of an offensive dman when you’ve already got guys like Hedman, McDonagh, and sergachev. And that philly trade is brutal, young dmen like sergachev have a lot of value, and gourde is a good player on a good contract, why give him up for a rental?

you give up Gourde because he's like 4'1" and won't help you in the playoffs when the game gets nasty which it will. He's not a guy fighting on the boards winning a 50/50. Lots of small wingers on TB. Much like last year when the hits start flying the ice gets tighter and players get their game effected because they are out their with their head on a swivel trying not to get killed instead of playing hockey.That leads to mistakes and losing 4-0 like they did last year to the caps.
Simons brings grit to the team. A real banger. The team really lacks that. He's someone to at least try to keep the other team honest.
Personally I wouldn't do the Avs trade, but I can see why they want the Philly trade.

Basically for the Avs trade I was going toward acquiring a RHD because the Bolts lack depth on that side. Looking back on the trade proposal I posted, I agree I added too much, it should have been Miller and one of Raddysh or the 1st rounder (Miller to be able to make cap space because Tampa has few cap space).
