Description
not sure this would even work Would Johnsson and Kapinen sign this cheap on a bridge.
Not sure there is a team in the league who can make a deal to favour Toronto. Would never give Toronto a 1st as they are hooped if nobody takes Nylander. No way of signing their other players unless they shed that cap

Why? Nylander has been on fire the past month or two. The guy is a great hockey player that drives possession through the neutral zone and generates a ton of offense.

If the Leafs are willing to give him away that cheaply, the Wild would gladly take him.

Leafs should be trading Zaitsev, Brown, Hyman, or even Kadri before they think about moving Nylander.

That is an embarrassingly bad trade. You can't honestly think the leafs would accept that garbage...

It would start with Bouchard for Nylander without a doubt.

AGREEED!! God why they are trading the good players instead of bad ones is beyond my logic.. Nylander does NOT move..

Johnsson and Kapanen both have 1 solid year of NHL on the resumes, not sure why everyone thinks they each deserve $6m in June.

Check out some RFA deals last year of more accomplished players like S. Reinhart, Nurse, Morrisey, etc.

Non superstar RFAs do not have a lot of bargaining power, especially when they've only been in the league for 1 full season.

Won't comment on the horrendous Nylander trade, it's been covered above.

Leafs fans on here know...I'm not high on Nylander. I think they were unwise to sign him, and think his value is far belong what most have him at.

That said....that return is ridiculously light for a player of his age and caliber
