Description

I wanted to explore ways to escape cap hell without trading the players Vancouver has been to unable to trade, probably due to negative value (Louie Eriksson, Sven Baertschi) or that teams probably have no interest in at the moment (Ferland) . That part was actually easier than I thought: trade Myers and don’t resign Markstrom. From there I thought, why not try and fit in a winger for Horvat?

So many teams are near the cap, they just can't or won't make a trade where they are taking on a lot more cap, unless they can find considerable value in the player.

The Canucks dont need Taylor Hall. He comes at the price of blowing up the team.

Thought the same thing as signing Hall is a terrible UFA signing when team is going to need money to sign Pettersson and Hughes long-term. The trades are terrible for the Canucks in giving away Virtanen, Myers and Pearson.

I'd love to get rid of Myers but I just can't see it happening. Recently signed UFA who has an anchor of a contract.
