you do know the salary cap exists for other teams right, avs dont touch that trade with a 10 foot pole bc of how it destroys their cap space have Barzal 1 year ending at the same time as MacKinnons contract.

I think you are overvaluing Pageau. Hronek is a top 4 Dman and Pageau is almost 30 and he has only hit 20 goals once.

I can't imagine ONE of Joe Sakic, Bill Guerin, Ken Holland or Stevie Yzerman being gulled into those deals, let alone all four.
