Description
Habs post Petry to Detroit ACGMs every 30 seconds so why not one for Detroit?

Rationale according to users.

Petry wants to be close to Michigan. Okay, why didn’t he sign he as a UFA? Might imply that Yzerman doesn’t have interest or they don’t see eye to eye on contract figures. Similar how Yzerman looked at Trouba and then decided he didn’t like the ask. Yzerman also has stated he intends to acquire individuals close to the core age (this trade goes against it).

Seider-Hronek-Lindstrom as RHD so only makes sense that one is shipped out for an asset that Yzerman would covet (eg Cooley).

I get that all those Habs ACGM can be tiring for other fanbases, but there's 0% chance this year's 1st is dealt. Can't tell if it was a serious proposal or not.

That pick is currently first overall.

I just don't think Habs is going to deal that.

Really just showing Hab fans how illogical their statements are. If Petry really wanted to come to Detroit and it was mutual with Yzerman it would’ve happened before he signed his extension or ~7 years ago. It also goes against everything Yzerman has said so to answer your question a little both.

Petry was never a UFA. He was always extended prior to reaching UFA status. Also this trade doesn't make any sense since Arizona will have Carolina's pick.

I agree there are way too many Petry trades on here. His value currently is low but I love how people forget just how good he has been ovwr the past 3 or 4 years. The habs literally could have got the equalivant of two first round picks for him a year and half ago. He is still capable of being a stud again, yet people on here who probably have never watched him think he is the worst D in the league lol. Every Hab this year has been awful. Put him on a new team and you'll see just how good he can be again.
