Canes should not be in this at all…what is the likelihood that Pasta signs a team friendly long term deal (which is what Canes would want)? My guess is zero, or that would be done in BOS.

Assets like what you are asking for with the Canes need to come with contract term for us, and there is very low probability that happens in Carolina.

When was the last time a player like Pasta was traded with one year left on their contract? Mark Stone comes to mind but that was at the TDL if I remember correctly & then immediately signed extension.

The return there was Brannstrom, 2nd rounder, & Oscar Lindberg.
