Description
General thoughts on this team:

I have done the Varly for VV and a 2nd multiple times, so trying something new with Gibson.

I kept Wilson on IR so the salary would count, but realistically, he would be on LTIR so the Caps would have more than enough space to bring up a player from Hershey (Snively) to play the 13th forward role.

Goalies: I think this trade is the MOST I would be willing to trade for Gibson. Thought about making the pick a conditional 2nd, but didn't want to be bias. A 1st, a solid 1b goalie, and a top RHD prospect is a solid turnout for a goalie who has slightly above average numbers on a bad team. Hopefully he can regain his play on a contending team.

Forwards: I think this is a very dangerous forward group. Bringing in the FAs here provides both offensive and defensive abilities (maybe Trocheck gets more salary wise, but who knows). Just imagine putting Wilson in there once he is back too...

Defense: This is the part I am worried about, specifically the bottom pair. Can Alexeyev or Johansen take the reins for that last dman?

Trade thoughts:

2023 1st
VV = basically a 2nd pick worth
Iorio = top 4 potential RHD

I think this is a lot to give up for a goalie who has slightly above average stats on a bad team, but Caps have to make moves to keep the window open for another 2-3 years

I'd rather trade Sammy and keep Vitek but I'm being picky.

Yeah I thought about that. I just think Sammy has a higher potential (and can potentially steal a game for you) - but again, would be fine either/or.

This isn’t the worst one I’ve seen but I still don’t see it happening

As a Caps fan, I like this team. Gibson is a great goalie, and I think with this team in front of him, he could put up some very good numbers.
