petry's value is just a tad low in that trade imo. i think add a mid-low pick coming to MTL and its good
though that trade only falls through if DAL loses klinger imo

I’m not high on Petry but seems like it favors Dallas. Dobby is a cap dump whereas Petry is overpaid but still useful especially as a potential replacement to Dallas for Kling. If mtl retains on Petry or finds a third team they could get a good return imo

I'm torn with Petry's value

Kent Hughes said he won't give assets to another team to take Petry. So from that sentence, that means Petry has negative value. But after, he says if we get a decent offer for Jeff, he WILL trade him ... Then the insiders are saying 4 to 6 teams are trying to acquire Jeff Petry ... So wtf does that mean, teams would take him for 'free' but K. Hughes isn't ready to just gave him away ?

The way I see it is that Klingberg will probably get 7+ mil for a contract twice as long as Petrys. Taking Khudobin would make Petry in essence a 4mil Dman for next year and then 6.2 for the last 2. If the cap goes up in the following seasons I see Petrys contract not being that bad as a #2/3 Dman for Dallas compared to what the market is for RHD
