And here I was thinking the Buffalo trade was the only one that was remotely balanced. The other two are non starters. Why would Calgary move Monahan and his 1-year contract for two players with multi-year deals who really aren't much better?

Sabres decline. They have several good wingers coming up, and they have dahlin, power, and Samuelsson as left shot d. Jokiharhu isn't some blue chip piece, but they need him more than a grab bag of stuff they don't need.
