Getting an injury-prone, less talented, older and more expensive LHD for Severson is certainly a trade.
Would be absolutely horrified if the Devils went ahead with this.

This makes no sense for the Devils. We've heard enough about a "veteran presence"....we can get that elsewhere, cheaper. We'll keep a strong RHD until the deadline, and even then we don't want term contracts back as that LHD spot will be for Luke Hughes.

The usual silliness.....trading NTC Muzzin to a non playoff team........Not saying the Devils would do the trade anyways.

Severson > Muzzin, especially when factoring in the risks.

The only argument for would be to get 2 years of Muzzin vs 1 year of Severson (buys an extra year for Hughes, Nemec, etc to get ready).
And that only was really valid before we extended Siegenthaler and traded Smith for Marino (as we had 4 of 6 dmen needing new contracts next summer....now only two)

I'd say Devils decline this one.
