I'd want protection on the 1st, and Miller needs to come with an extension.

But the more time has gone on, the less I really want to pursue a Miller trade.

Doesn't have to be Jack, but something needs to go back in order to make the cap work.

The thing about trading for former 1st rounders picked by CBJ is that they've basically never made a good draft pick in there 20 yr history. It is pretty shocking looking at their picks. The 23' first has value and absolutely cannot be lottery protected.

Severson trade looks good though

Doug MacLean was a terrorist, and Howson was no better. There's a reason neither has ever been a GM again. Can't say Jarmo's really drafted that well, either, but the Jackets in his tenure are also usually mediocre with mid-round firsts rather than straight up bad and in the lottery. Winning out the last what ten games in 2015 and ending up 8th in the McDavid draft hurt, Werenski or no. Beating the Leafs in the bubble was also probably a mistake in hindsight. I trust them on their European picks generally but the North American ones tend to suck.
