Not a bad offer for Mayfield if the isles are out of it. I’m not convinced that will be the case. They aren’t a high scoring team, but they have two legit number one goalies and a high end defense.

I feel like I'd jump on this whether or not they're in the playoff mix. Mayfield is a guy that should be walking at the end of the year, and if Grant Hutton shows some growth in the AHL you can bring him up and just shelter the hell out of the Salo-Hutton third pair the last 20 or so games. Getting a 1st and an interesting prospect to help beef up the pipeline would be worth it to me.

Along with @Isles5513 and @dannibalcorpse, I think that this is fair value for the Islanders -- if the conditions are right. Good idea.
