  1. Gibson, John ($1,400,000 retained)
ANA
How much would it take to get Gibson with the salary retention? He has been one of the more consistent goalies, even throughout the Ducks rebuild, and is a very reliable 1A/B starter option. Not entirely sure on his value, but my offer would be the trade below this one. What would need to be changed to get this trade through?
    2.
    CAR
      Goaltender John Gibson 1.4mil retention

Extra retention could be added if value is a bit high to even out value. If value is too low, what needs to be added?

Brother, Gibson has been regressing for 5 years. He's barely an NHL goalie anymore. He's not worth it

To be fair to Gibson, when you see him in person he looks fine. Anaheim just has the worst defense I’ve ever seen in the NHL.

Posting above a .900 s% in each of those seasons on terrible Ducks teams, whilst also not having a competent defense in front of him, any goalie’s numbers are going to take a hit when a team goes from being a contender to tanking. Regressing is a bit harsh of a take given the circumstances of the team.

Besides, even if he were regressing, Carolina is a great team to go to reignite a goalie’s career.
