Description
The Kings will need to address a LD addition, but getting back Kaliyev and Moore should boost the forward groups enough to already boost the forward group. I do not feel Byfield will take over for Lizotte or Kupari this season and will continue acting as a winger for the duration of this season.

Detroit and LA might make sense, Detroit gets a long-term upgrade at 4C which has the upside to move up the lineup and the Kings reunite Walker and Maata for the 3rd pair. The Kings have Walker and Durzi both end the season and sell high on one to make room for Spence (or Clarke) next season.

Kings decline. Kings had the chance to RESIGN him last season and chose not to resign him for a reason. He is not our solution

Detroit declines, we can get a better return for Määttä.

We already have 5 waiver eligible centres on the roster and Jaret isn't better than anyone of them. You would have to offer Kupari for this to be interesting, otherwise we will simply take the 2nd round pick that several other teams are likely to offer.

I wouldn't trade JAD. He has looked really good over the last month.

If you think Lombardi or Andreasson, neither of whom has a second of NHL experience, is better than JAD, you've been indulging in recreational pharmaceuticals.

Detroit's current 3rd and 4th line centers are Rasmussen and Veleno. Rasmussen is the from the same draft class not only does he have a higher ppg but he is has played really well lately using his size to his advantage. Veleno is from the 2018 draft class and he has a higher ppg as well. So I'm not sure Anderson-Dolan is an up grade over either of them. I never liked Maatta much until he got to Detroit and I saw how well he fit in. It was either you or OldNYIfan that said I'd be pleasantly surprised with Maatta's play and now I'd like to see him resigned. Value wise I think the trade favors Detroit a bit with all things considered but who knows. One thing I do know is I like him more than Chiarot, who we are stuck with for 3 more seasons after this season.
OldNYIfan, tryger and DeadWingsv2 liked this.
