Description
After Mo, there’s a clear need for a RHD. Detroit is loaded with LHD prospects. Detroit also needs to add scoring and getting one of the best playmakers in the league is going to give the young forward more opportunities. It’s not in line with their blueprint but if there’s a team that has room to spend and assets they can offload without bankrupting themselves, the Wings are it.

RIP Husso when Chiarot/Karlsson are on the ice together...

I think it's a solid package though, and would be fun to see him back in the Atlantic.

The idea is fine, but does not fit into what Yzerman has done to this point. He has preached patience and flexibility. Husso would be better off not having Charoit and Kalrsson in defensive zone, good offensively, bad defensively.

No need for LW, as we have several options. Need RH center, wingers and defenseman.

That would be a terrible move for Detroit. I don't mind trading a good LHD prospect and the Isles 1st for a legit RHD with term, but not one on the wrong side of 30 with a RIDICULOUS cap hit. Karlsson is a "win-now" acquisition, not a "take the next step" acquisition.

If we were going to give up piles of assets it would have been for Meier or Horvat not for karlsson. No one is going to pay a price like that for karlsson. Sj would sell him for nothing if it got that contract off the books.

I bet we could get Karlsson with no retention without the firsts and Wallinder. I know Grier said he wanted 3 firsts of value but I think that was with retention. It wouldn't be worth giving up those three very valuable assets.
