Its not that i think the Konecny deal is bad value, it just strikes me as odd. He's a good player who doesnt really address any of the major issues the Sabres have. And my understanding is he hates Dahlin long time.
Boos liked this.

I doubt that we would be including one of our two NHL-qualified left-handed defensemen in a trade for a LhD, but that trade is in the ballpark on value. I have some doubts on committing four first-round draft picks in a row to trades, and whether Los Angeles would be interested in Provorov for non-hockey reasons.

I don't really think that Turcotte and Bjornfot should be viewed as equivalent to a 1st rounder in value just because they were drafted there. Turcotte is coming up on DY+4 and still hasn't made the cut at the NHL level. Obviously the injuries played a factor there but those same injuries are concerns for anyone that trades for him. I like Bjornfot's game but I don't really see him being anything more than a solid bottom-pair defensemen.

We traded away our 2022 first-round draft pick for Kevin Fiala.
We traded away our 2023 first-round draft pick for Vladi Gavrikov and Joonas Korpisalo.
You have us trading away our 2024 first-round draft pick plus committing our 2025 first-round draft pick to this trade.
That's what I was referring to when I said "four first-round draft picks in a row," without thinking about Bjornfot and Turcotte because your "trade is in the ballpark on value."
Oh, and you're absolutely right about Turcotte and Bjornfot.

Honest question, where did the Konecny hates Dahlin thing come from?
