No thanks on trades 2, 4 and 5. I could live with trading that Islanders first for Debrincat but I personally would rather make the pick. I think UPL has some potential and maybe Zadina vibes back in Buffalo where so many have. No to Kuzy, not the type of player we need.
You traded away too many high end picks and pieces that we need to fill organizational holes in the system. This team might be a fringe playoff but not a contender and these moves would put the team back in the long run.

Thoughts on ROR instead of Kuznetsov?

Would be better just older. He actually plays defence and hasn't been under scrutiny for being a coke head. I honestly don't think he signs here unless we pay him alot of money and then the term could only be 2-3 years max.
Krug is really not needed and that contract would handcuff is in the future.
Trading Maatta just after being extended would be a dcik move. He is a good player and is cheap, shouldn't move him and replace him for the more expensive Krug.
I honestly doubt Buffalo would do that trade though to be honest. I heard they don't care for UPL but Zadina is at an all time low in terms of value.
When it comes to trading those two firsts and two seconds. We have so many holes in the organization and Yzermam has done a good job drafting but we need more good RHD and centres in the system. Maybe another good goalie prospect.

Don't see CHI, getting tied up to $4m a season for a guy who's struggled with health issues and whilst not getting paid to do so. Whether the value is there or not

No on Krug. He is aging poorly with 4 years at 6.5, that is not good. It was a bad deal before the ink dried.

As much as I think Debrincat will get paid around 8 million, as Cat falls somewhere between Hintz (8.5 steal!) and Kyrou (8 million overpay!). Not sure Detroit is the team to overpay and give up assets for. Cats QO is 9 million, and he hits UFA. The trade is fair, but Ottawa fans will scream and point to the Meier trade. Cat is not as good as Meier. Plus, the Sharks got two mid 20s (conditionally, and maybe only 1) 1st. They got a higher ceiling top 4 D and some depth prospects that will be replaceable. Pick 17 in a deep draft is probably an overpay.

Fabbri can stay if you are only getting a 5th. He has passion and energy. He can't stay hurt forever, right? RIGHT?! I'd rather keep him and hope...he's a good guy, likable.
