Levi is the real deal in my opinion. Stick with him. Don't need Helly.

I don't like the hellebuyck idea. With his contract demands, I view him as a straight rental, hard stop. What's the absolute most you would pay for a straight rental goalie? A protected first? Even that's too much for where we are in our development. I feel Jets fans pain, it sucks to make your peace with moving a star player only to realize that you've lost a ton of leverage and there's nothing you can do about it. Even with the projected salary cap increases for future years, there aren't many, if any, teams willing to throw that contract at hellebuyck. So there's no market to potentially drive up the price.

Don't necessarily think Hellebuyck is a wise investment for the Sabres but just pointing out that if you were to have Hellebuyck you would not have both Levi and Luukkonen to give raises to (since Hellebuyck would be taking one of their rosters spots) and likely a younger player such as Krebs or Mittlestadt or Jokiharju would need to go back to Winnipeg to get Hellebuyck in the first place. If you pay Krebs and Greenway 6.5 million dollars to be fourth liners, then yeah suddenly you're not going to have any cap space for Hellebuyck.

There's a world in which Hellebuyck can totally fit under the cap for the Sabres, the question just really is "is it smart to give a 30 year old (admittedly elite) goalie 9million or so dollars for 6-8 years" and the answer is no probably not.

Someone is going to have to go from the top 9, for Kulich, he's not a 4th L LW.

Agree with you all and thank you all for your comments.
That was exactly the purpose of this post.
With 9 (NINE) ELC's on the roster, there is only $6,240,000 room without Hellebyuck.
Olofsson in gone and as @CB37 Kulich will not be on the fourth line, someone else has to go.
