***I kind of messed up on salary; let's pretend they either retain a little bit on Sturm, or Suzuki just starts in the AHL for a few weeks/months until they accrue enough extra space to recall him. Alternately, CAR can acquire Stepan or Brassard or someone to 4C, but I just wanted to get Drury off that 4th line. In either event, I would have Drury playing on the 2nd line, and Bunting or Teuvo dropping to 3LW.***

After Tony DeAngelo's signing, would it even make sense for CAR to acquire EK69? Here's a trade I think would make sense, both value and cap wise. I think CAR will struggle to re-sign RFA Necas next offseason with Aho and Jarvis, etc. SJS can either sign him themselves, or send him off for more futures. SJS would likely sell Pesce regardless, but I do think either could potentially fit their timeline if they want to shell out the money now.

I should've put in the original description, but just for anyone new: I don't really think CAR makes any sense for EK69. PIT is really the only team I think makes complete sense.

At that price, No. Necas needs to come out of that deal. There's a way for Carolina to do this, this ain't it

I wouldn't do this if I'm Waddell. At minimum Karlsson should be retained 50% for that package. Though I'm not sure why CAR are even interested in Karlsson to begin with. Even less so with Deangelo. Burns, Karlsson, Deangelo are all right handed 4Fs. Redundancy on top of redundancy.
