Interested in getting feedback on such a deal.

I'm not low on Bouchard as I think he's a rare offensive talent, but I don't think EDM has the structure to allow him to thrive to the degree he should. I think an EDM team run by McDavid & Draisaitl would thrive more being able to rampage on offense without fear of the kinds of mistakes Bouchard is making currently. Murphy helps offer that now while Rinzel projects as a great fit in the future when they'll very much need the space.

For reference, I've quite high on Rinzel since his draft year.

To me, this is more of a philosophical question rather than a trade value question. I perceive this trade to be short cutting the rebuild that we really just started 1 year 8 months and 9 days ago. I know it seems like a long time, but Kyle Davidson was hired March 1st 2022. Rebuilds take time and I personally just want to do the rebuild right vs right now. For me, I see the value. I'm not ignorant to it. I'm a pass.

Yeah, I'm with you here. The earliest I envision KD making any "right now" trades is the summer of 2025, and even that is probably too soon. I think he will continue to "build through the draft and development" and let it come together "organically", until we know exactly what we need and legit contention is within reach with minimal moves. Unless there is something WAYYYYY too good to pass up.

I would say Hawks do this 100%. Bouchard is a great player. Rinzel is still an unknown at this moment. Very young, still 2+ years out. You take the certainty.

Acknowledging you said just the framework, and depending on what other pieces are involved, I'd think Kyle from Chicago would consider this. Hawks get a legit top 4 RD for the next decade. Give up Murphy now along with his likely replacement 3 years from now in Rinzell. So it's essentially a one for one swap. I'm good with a Vlasic/Bouchard pairing for the next 8 to 10 years.
