Description
It’s actually funny. The bottom of the barrel insiders who need to funnel clicks and interactions to make money are the ones claiming Zegras is available. Might actually make you think why their the only ones claiming that based on nothing but the Drysdale trade.

Verbeek said the reason for the Drysdale-Cutter trade was to goal scoring to the system/team. Why would a team that struggles to score trade away one of its more prominent scoring threats? And why would they do it at his lowest value?

Just because the Sucks added a forward doesn’t mean any of the other young forwards need to be moved. The ducks were gonna trade a significant D men no matter what for scoring help. They just did it sooner than most expected.

The Zegras “rumors” sound like gossip to me.

*Also this is a TDL guess.

I can't believe you're making me defend the Islanders but

The writing on the wall with Zegras has been there since the summer, when they tried to lowball him with an insulting offer and then didn't sign him until the last minute. No one wanted to hear me then, and some don't want to hear me now, but the Cutter Gauthier trade just makes it more obvious that Zegras isn't an important part of the Ducks' future plans.

It could be as simple as they just want to go younger, if they think a contention window is further down the line. Out goes 22yo Drysdale, in comes 19yo Gauthier. If nearly 23yo Zegras gets traded, expect them to bring in a high-end prospect 20 or younger and some picks. Anaheim was screwed out of Connor Bedard just like they were screwed out of Crosby. Now they are still actively tanking and hopefully can get Celebrini. Which would just further decrease the need for Zegras.

Pat Verbeek didn’t draft Zegras. Negociation have been though. Maybe Zegras doesn’t fit the new regime. Anaheim won’t gave him away but if they get what they are looking for they will listen for sure.

You keep claiming that the Gauthier trade makes Zegras irrelevant to the Ducks, so clearly you know something I don't about who the Ducks long term top 6 are.

So please name them.
