Description
CALM YOUR TITS.

Lets not break the team, and lets give MB some slack...

-Patch is barely there on the ice,
-Price was trash in net
-Petry and Benn were total liabilities
-Drouin is finding his game at center

Why was he able to find a #1 center ? CAUSE he ain't got sh*t to trade!

he did have much five year ago... and was able to build up this team.

Maybe he MB could have the opportunity to find a better centre if he spend his cap wiser. Not make the Drouin deal, would have saved 4m for 3 years. "CALM YOUR TITS.?" Never thought I would heard those words in a MB critique, but I appreciate the thought of ti... you know

I totally agree with you. If Pacioretty, Petry, Galchenyuk and Price don't play well, thats not on Marc Bergevin. Also we are only 7 points out of a wild card spot and the next few games for us are at home and we are playing in a weak division. With Jerabek, Morrow and hopefully Schelmko playing well, then we can have a clear evaluation about the defense and offense. Some people were actually dumb enough to suggest that we should trade Carey Price. Guess they don't actually watch hockey. we have 10mill in cap space. and 3 picks in the top 2 rounds in the 18 draft. Teams are dying for cap space. I'm sure when a deal is right, we will put that space to use.

Yes it's early to talk about rebuild but still, the core isn't good enough. It's NOT MB the problem, it's the order he has to "always have a competitive team" since he arrived. That obliged him to keep building around Price, Subban, Pacioretty and let say the two kids (GG). Awesome start, but to have better, he needed to trade one or wait for his late round picks. He did both, but after a bad year, and mid-bad drafting, he trades Subban, got a great prospect and fired the coach in the next season. Then he let Markov go (which is harder to accept than Radulov in my opinion) and traded that great prospect for an other one form Qc. His core is now Price Weber Drouin Pacioretty and Gallagher. Three of them will or are slowing down and nobody can replace them because again, MTL drafted poorly between 2010 and 2015.
He told publicly he was mad for trades he didn't do. I'm sure MB should stay in Montreal, he's got what it takes, but right now, he really needs to : 1. Work harder to win (blockbuster trade) 2. Rebuild
A rebuild doesn't have to be throwing away everything. It's a clever little plan of getting rid of a "unmovable" players for picks or prospect that you know will be a perfect fit in the close future. it's all about maximizing the sell.
If you want to give what it takes to get Tavares, or sign him after, sure. But you have to trade a guy like Pacioretty for his value now! And if you want to wait for the deal to come, you'll finish with a top 5 pick because you're team is loosing and loosing and it affects their moral and they're under pressure with all the medias. So at the end, if Montreal wins 10 in a row, it'll be thanks to Price, but it won't last. Good luck reaching the playoff, paying for retooling and not thinking about a long time very clever plan like Sam Pollock did with Guy Lafleur.

All this because Montreal was so good for 80 years.

I totally agree! I also think Patch, if things don't get better, should be traded while he has two years left on his contract in order to maximise value. Also, it would bring around a change in leadership in the room. Which, I think is what is needed right now.

I could not disagree more with one thing. Give MB some slack........

He inherited literally all the good pieces the Habs had/have. Price, Pacioretty, Plekanec, Gallagher, Galchenyuk, Markov, Subban/Weber etc. The few pieces he did get? Drouin but cost him Sergachev. Shaw but cost him Debrincat and Krys. Radulov but he only stayed for one year. Petry but he is way overpaid for what he brings.

The only real "good" moves he's done is get Danault, Byron and Radulov. Other than that, he's made controversially bad trades, signed players to bad contracts and constantly sided with his coaches at the cost of his best players.

Yes, some players have played badly but cut MB some slack? No, he needs to be cut loose......
