Also saw a news feed about Maroon, but no hint whatsoever what BOS was offering or what EDM was asking; I would have put it in here, but I didn't even know where to begin...

Don’t count on it. Get more than a 2nd and it’s robbery. Plus You have the trade wizard at the helm.

Get the sense, and have already seen it through the Oilers fans, that Maroon is going to be way over valued and no team is going to want to pay it. Will be sold in last hour of deadline for a third and low prospect unless a team that really wanted Rick Nash misses out and is willing to pay the Oilers asking price to ensure they get a power forward.

I just wish I knew what EDM was asking... there hasn't been any type of hints to the press at all; he shouldn't be valued all that high, but of course PC is going to start the bidding above what he really expects to get for him. I'm really confused on this one. I don't even know where to begin to imagine what PC is asking for a return.

It's a weird case as Maroon has only started to produce while playing on Edmonton/ with McDavid so while they're treating him as a quality asset, a lot of other GM's are being cautious and doing there due diligence on how much he actually contributes.

Exactly! He wasn't a terrible power forward in ANA, but he wasn't a 30 goal scorer either... playing with McJesus has obviously boosted his stats. It's so tough to gauge this one... You'd have to do the quantum physics and figure out what he'd contribute as a 4th liner in BOS because that's where he'd fit in. He wouldn't steal a job away from Marchand, DeBrusk, or Heinen... that leaves him playing with Kuraly and Acciari waaaaay different numbers than he's putting up right now. I mean 1.5 isn't a bad cap hit for a 4th line Power Forward, but would he be that much better than Schaller? I'm sure he's more skilled, but it depends on what EDM wants in return...

That NYR now that I think about it isnt that terrible. Carlo and a first in 2019 should do, but at the same time, it isnt really worth it. RHD are so much more valuable... but then again, McDonaugh would be a great fit when Z is done

I like the mcdonagh trade. He is an upgrade with time left andyou can extend him and wish chara a happy day. Im all in favor of sending krug anywhere, still i dont like that deal.

i think the McDonagh trade could help, but leaves the Bruins weaker on the right side. Then again, you get better defense and offensive ability in McDonagh. The Klefbom deal, no. that trade is horrible for Boston.
