Not so fast. You're probably right about Buffalo, but Price and his family might enjoy Carolina or Arizona.

All things being equal, I'd take the Blues deal.

You are delusional to think a 30 year old goalie, who has yet to even start an 8 year contract that pays him 10.4 million a season gets anywhere close to any of those returns.

None of these teams want an old goalie with a terrible contract. Your not getting any of that from Buffalo except Bogosian

Price does not have value. He’s was bad all year, been injured every season and hasn’t even started a massive contract. No goalie has ever gotten returns like this ever.

You say 30 year old goalie like it's a bad thing, goalies hit their primes at age 30-35. Just look at what Lundqvist, Fleury, and Rinne are doing.

Price will stay in MTL until that contract is done. Even if he did waive his NMC there is no way any of these teams accept because trading for Price is like trading for Kucherov.

These valuations are pure insanity for a goalie with 8 years @ $10.5M left on his contract. Even if he was the undisputed best goalie in the world (which he isn't), goalies just don't have that much value.

Trading Price is not the same as trading Karlsson/McDavid/Crosby/etc.

None of them are quite where they need to be but the St. Louis one might have a slim chance if you take out Kostin and switch one of the picks to a round later. I think STL and EDM are the only ones of those that he would want to go to. However, I like the sorts of things you are suggesting as returns because Montreal does need some of those things.

LOL, no one is going to give up that much for Price..

Goalies aren't worth much anyway..... Not only that but Price isn't going to put those teams over the top.. With the exception of St Louis and Edmonton none of those teams are even playoff teams and it's not like Price will solve that issue......

Oh not to mention Price's contract....

Seriously, price is immovable because he's not worth the assets required to get him, he wont be a difference maker, his salary is ridiculous...

I mean how many wins can Price actually get an average team above replacement level? maybe 5 .... 5 wins....

Yea, and for every one of them I can show you 5 goalies that regressed over that period of time.

Sorry but no one is going to give much of anything for Price.... It would have to be a perfect situation for that to happen.... Rebuilding teams don't want him, contenders already have their goalie - which is why they're contenders in the first place - and bubble teams cant afford to give up the assets Montreal would want without getting better... And that is just the price for Price - now factor in his salary and cap hit and there is just no way...

There is no addition by subtraction with a goalie which makes Price immovable..

What the hell ?? Look guys... watch the playoff and you'll see all the team, who hasn't a decent goalie, get kicked out real quick.
A lot of team would get naked to get the best goalie in the world even with his contract who isn't that bad considering what Luongo can do at 38 almost 39. We can also talk about Rinne who's having one of his best season in career at 35 years old. A lot of team could pass from, battling for a playoff spot to a SOLID CONTENDER TEAM by just adding a good goalie.

laugh laugh shakes head No way would Carolina give up Hanifin+Necas+2018 1st for Carey Price you're grossly over-valuing Price here the guy can't stay healthy. Good luck convincing Price to go to crap hole Arizona or even crap hole Buffalo. No way are you getting those kind of values for Price you'd need to eat $3 million on all those trades not just the Buffalo one.
