Ryan O'Reilly to Montreal. 5 different times. MTL fans please read description

Created by: Zach
Team: 2017-18 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 19, 2018

Description
Montreal fans have to stop giving the Sabres spare parts for O'Reilly. Stop giving Pacioretty in a basically 1 for 1 deal. 33 year old Shea Weber and his 100 year $7.8M contract isn't gonna work either.

You would think that team so desperate for a center wouldn't try to do this every time, but they all complain as to how O'Reilly isn't a clear cut 80-90 point 1C. Well guess what, there is only one way Montreal is gonna get a legit 90 point 1C.

Drafting one.

Ryan O'Reilly has had 3 consecutive 20+ goal seasons, 5 consecutive 55+ point seasons, is the best faceoff man in the league, won the Lady Byng trophy in 2013-14, and only had sat in the penalty box for 2 minutes in 81 games this season. In fact Ryan O'Reilly has played 651 NHL game and hasn't even spent an hour and a half in the penalty box in his entire NHL career.

These 5 trades are all gonna be fair value for a player of O'Reilly's caliber and the fact he is locked up for another 5 years makes him that much more valuable.

          Interesting team concept. One Galchenyuk doesn't work at center, but three of him just might get it done.

          Id do 3 or 5. See, those are the ones that make sense, because we get a nice young d prospect- something we can use, or an early first round pick. I tried suggesting that they should involve a third team, but it appears that its been decided that the guy that they so desperately want doesnt have any value. Its weird really, like pj orourke said "supply plus demand equals your visa bill".

          I like version 3.0. If mete can play into a top 4 and chucks ok you make out ok.

          Great work.. all values are close enough to think about it.
          As MTL fans I will go for 1st choice.... but the more realistic value for Buff should be No#3 with Mete included.

          You my fried are one funny guy..... great sense of humor!

          In relation to your offerings Zach..... I give you 5 stars as I am so tired of hearing that same ole line about ROR & then being told to accept Galchenyuk or Patches straight up..... I personally do not want either Galchenyuk or Patches but with that being said:

          1. Drouin & 1st Round in 2019;

          2. Hudon, McCarron & 2018 First Round pick;

          3. Galchenyuk, Mette & 2018 2nd Round pick;

          4. Denault, Lehkonen & 2020 3rd Round pick;

          5. Galchenyuk, Lekonen & 2018 Second Round (CHI) pick;

          1,2 and 3 are over payments by the Habs. 4 is an under payment and I think the next 2 are I. The ball park but only if the picks are outside the top 10.

          I say this because those are better returns then what Colorado got in the original deal to get Orielly when he was younger and more valuable.

          I guess I need to give you 25 stars because you traded O'Reilly 5 times.
          IMO they are all fair, which one is best is a matter of opinion and I am not about to rank when I would take any of them.
          Now that being said, IMO trade Alzner to make some cap space sign either Bozak or Statsny or both for that matter then with a healthy Weber and Price. Montreal is back in the playoffs.

          Great concept. I’d like to see one done for the Blues if you find the time. It’s always nice to see these hypotheticals from the other teams perspective.
