With Carolina apparently open for business and Babs wanting to draft Hanifin over Marner back then, I'd be shocked if the Leafs didn't trade for Hanifin. Don't really want Tanev. I think if CAR-TOR are gonna make a deal it's gonna be a big one. Multiple pieces moving.

Thanks man glad u liked it. I added Tanev just to strengthen that right side even if Tanev only plays about 60 games. Although he may play more as the heavy hard hitting teams seem to be in the west

I'm a canes fan. Nylander for Hanifin is nowhere near fair. Noah can control a game, he's proved that. Nylander has yet to show his that star he's projected to be. He's put up above average numbers but he's not had a breakout season yet. He's underachieving for what he was projected. If you are going to go after Hanifin, my guess is it will cost you Freddy, some prospects and a pick. I know your going to shoot that down immediately but that is IMO what it would cost.

Well, yeah! Freddy’s Toronto’s only goaltender, and he’s a terrific one. Hanifin hasn’t shown his full potential yet, either, so I think this trade can work. At most, we can add a 2nd coming ur way to this trade, but Toronto’s not giving up their Goaltender+ just for Hanifin.

The fact that you showed the an inaccurate Leaf Dmen shows the reason the Leafs really don't know Hanifan. At LHD, the Leafs have Reilly, Gardiner, Dermot and Borgman. Certainly the Nylander would only be traded to strengthen a position of need. The Leafs have only two NHL centres going to this season....Matthews, and Kadri. Excellent chance that Nylander is moved this centre this year, a position of need.
The Tanev trade has been discussed endlessly. Would Tanev help the Leafs for the next two years. Well probably if he he plays. Tanev is probably a better trade to a team with is looking for the one piece. Leafs need Zaitsev to play like his rookie season and Hainsey is fine good for one more year. Leafs can find the one Dman without giving up a first rounder IMO, whether it's Carrick, Holl, Polak or part of the 10m avaialbe to spend. More important their are lots of potential UFA Dmen available in 2019. Hate to have Tanev plugging up 4.4m of cap space.

then I don't think Hanifin leaves Carolina. He's a monster on the blue line and Toronto need him. Paying a goaltender when you have Garret Sparks and Calvin Pickard

Firstly change it 2018-2019 season. Secondly I don’t see the leafs giving up Nylander but possibly Kapanen instead along with more I.e sparks or McElhinney and levio. Don’t forget pad Lindholm as well.

Why are folks so fascinated with Pickard and Sparks? Pickard cleared waivers last year, 30 times didn't want him. Though I think Sparks will be given the opportunity to be a Leaf next year, you just don't give away Mcillerny in the hope that Sparks is going to be an NHLer. Leafs could quite easily go in training camp with their top four goalies from last year. With their salaries even if they demoted to the Marlies, it doesn't affect the cap.

Canes need a goaltender more then you need air. Carolina is a cup contender with a goaltender. Let them take the chance on sparks or Pickard and then if they fail great you dodged a bullet and if they succeed, you got Justin Faulk to sure up your defence

Add Gardiner, a 2nd, and Pickard to that. O think that’s fair, nobody trades starting goaltenders now a days

The cans have so many good d-man trading 1 for a centre is worth it. We drafted Marner because that who Mark Hunter wanted and he was controlling the draft at the time. There’s no way Carolina turns Down that deal

There is. Hanifin is one of two offensive d-men in the organisation. The other is Faulk. If Faulk goes whioch is the rumour, Hanifin Stays and isn't moving unless its blind robbery

You guys won't ever have a good D then. When a team has a need you fill it in return for the player you want. That's how the market works buddy.

Nylander has never played an extended period at center. He's not proven as an NHL center, Hanifin is a complete overpayment Faulk and some picks, sure. Hanifin NO

I know what the market is buddy. Remember hall for Larson? The market is good talent for good talent. What I suggested (Nylander, Pickard, Gardiner and a 1st with lottery protection) is more than fair. Hanifin was a -20 this year with 32 points. I didn’t say I want to acquire him, I’m just telling saying what would be needed to make this trade

For some reason, Caniac2000 is really pumping Hanifan. He's at the best the Canes third best Dman . Gee let's not make him out to be the saviour for the Leafs. And really if Hanifan is so valuable to be traded, he should be traded to team that is in need of a LHD, which isn't the Leafs.
