Kucherov is 25 and already one of the best players in the league. Eichel is nowhere close to that and Dahlin has not played a single NHL game. If you want to get a player like Kucherov, you need to pay a lot. No go away with your dumb responses

That is a horrid deal. Kuch Has more value than eichal or dahlin alone atm because of his history of production and eichel has already built a injury history while dahlin hasnt played a single game in the nhl. Obviously these trades wouldnt help either team because tb is stanley cup contending while buffalo is bottom of the barrel, for kuch to be moved to buffalo one of those 2 pieces will need to be included as a minimum but values shouldn't be to far off otherwise in tb favor. NYR fan

If Tampa offered Buffalo Kucherov for Eichel straight up, Buffalo would say no. What does that tell you?

The trade is an embarassment to sabres fans.

We aren't trading Eichel or Dahlin, but certainly Reinhart, Middelstadt, Ristolainen, our 2019 1st, Guhle, would all have to be on the table for kucherov, if he is to resign.

My guess is we'd be looking at Reinhart, Guhle and a 1st, and that might not get it done

To be fair, it would be a close decision. "Better the devil you know" probably means it doesn't happen, along with contract status. But there's no question in my mind that Kucherov is the better player of the two. Will Eichel be as good as Kucherov when he's 24? That's not a bet I'd be willing to make. Here's their p/60 during their NHL careers:

Eichel
19: 2.17
20: 2.81
21: 2.85 ** 41st in the league

Kucherov
20: 1.58
21: 3.18 ** 9th in the league
22: 2.82
23: 3.54
24: 3.78

There's a huge difference between 2.8 and 3.8. Can Jack get there? Maybe... Nikita is there now.
