This Skinner, Faulk and Rask return for Draisaitl is getting stale. Now you add Lucic at 3M caphit... making it even worse. I think I’ll start making some terrible Aho trade everyday cause Oilers are in the market to move Draisaitl as much as Canes want to move Aho. Oilers will NOT trade Draisaitl for short term solutions already explained this is previous version of this trade

Agreed with above comments. Oilers will only consider a Draisaitl trade if they are getting a young star winger in return for their young star Center.

How about Aho and TT for Strome, Sekera, and Caggiula?

Not even close to an equivalent of the OP.

TT>>>>Lucic with 50% retention.
Skinner and Faulk >>Strome and Sekera

That was an exaggeration on how bad the offer was...

No. For starters, Tampa doesn't have the cap space for them. There's also no need for any of those pieces. Point's also a fringe #1 already and getting deployed as a #2 forward

I think the problem is that Canes would be getting 7 yrs of top 6 center and Oilers would be getting 2 yrs of Faulk and 1 yr of Skinner. If it they re-signed Skinner, his next contract might demand $8 mil per year. And Faulk helps them offensively, but perhaps not defensively. It definitely makes sense for Canes and I like the attempt to get a 1C, but I'd agree that Oilers say no.

I wonder if instead of Rask-Lucic swap of bad contracts, Oilers would be moved by getting a top D prospect like McKweon or Bean as well. Or perhaps the contract to Fox who they just got from Calgary. Or something that would really hurt would be sending Teuvo or Pesce. From a Canes perspective, I'd do any of those. They'd hurt for sure, but with defensive depth and with Necas-Svech-Zykov-Foegle arriving, we can make room for next generation of talent.
