I thought you were implying that they are separately worth more than nylander. The trade value here is actually very close. If nylander were signed to a reasonable deal... this trade goes through instantly.We are obviously keeping nylander but as far as value pretty good.

Toronto is not making this trade. Their top line would be garbage if they did. Is Matthews going to carry that line by himself? Baertschi and Brown are not top 6 wingers.

Maybe not straight up but the point is Tanev isn't worth Nylander, not even close. There are only 5 pieces on the entire Canucks franchise that TO would have interest in, Baerschi isn't one of them.

You are asking TO to part with an elite 5v5 offensive player, look up his ranking league wide at 5v5, for a 28 year old often injured defensive defenceman and guy who would be hard pressed to make the leafs. Nylander is 22 and his best hockey is a head of him. Those two guys can't say the same. Terrible trade.

If you want to move Tanev then easily a different package not including a top prospect or Nylander can be worked out. If you want Nylander it's going to cost you more than your should be willing to give up because the cost will be high. Think Boeser for Nylander and a 1st. Or Nylander for Petterson.

Vancouver has 4 pieces that are valuable and a bunch of depth players that are not at all blue chip prospects. This is the entire reason why I think Vancouver is rushing their rebuild. They have some nice pieces but they are still lacking so much strength and balance that they will struggle for years yet.

if nylander is worth 8.25m what will the canucks pay for. boesner when he starts his rfa contract. shouldn't the leafs be expecting 8.25m value back in players, if that is nylanders worth.

We are getting into the situation where teams are paying Nylander far too much money just to make the trade. That signing makes Nylander a top 15 paid forward in the league. C'mon. Boesner will logically argue 11m next year.

No said straight up, but Tanev and Baerschi for Nylander is a joke. Tanev is a very good player, but he's 28 and is always injured. His best days are likely behind him, Nylanders are a head of him. Tanev does not even start the conversation for Nylander.

So if we look at players on the Canucks roster who would be in the ball park of a 22 year old elite offensive player, there are 2 names.

So can Vancouver get Nylander? Yes but it would be a trade all of their fan base would hate. Something like Nylander and a 1st for one of those two. Which in my opinion would be a stupid trade for them to attempt.
