Canes accept. Kapanen and Sandin would be enough.

I think Toronto does it. If Kapanen keeps playing like this, hes pricing himself or Nylander out of Toronto. They wont be able to afford Kapanen at more than 3 mill and hes on pace for at least 4 mill on a bridge deal

see with what you are offering Toronto would want Pesce for that with how Kapanen is playing I don't see them giving him up for Faulk on a 2-year rental.

Agreed, as a fan, I'd be happy giving Kapanen and Grundstrom and a 3rd

Pesce maybe, not a deal I'd do for Faulk by any means

No way, Faulk is nothing special in his own end. Not a piece Toronto needs. kapanen and grundstrom are not players we would consider moving either.

I know man, I'm just bored at work. You got to take it easy on the one star ratings.

Personally I hope we do no trades at all for this year and next, unless it means getting rid of Marleau's cap hit.

Kapanen grundstrom sandin and a 3rd is double value on Faulk, I stand behind my 1 star rating.

Several things here.

1) Faulk isn't that good, he's Jake Gardiner but right handed and even worse and boxing guys out infront of the net. Don't believe me? Look at Faulk's shot heat maps and notice the bright red directly to the right of the goalie, the guy leaves the front of the net wide open a tonne.
2) Kapanen has scored 8 points this season and everyone is going nuts for him. He isn't pricing himself or Nylander out of TO, at least not yet.
3) Sandin may have been Toronto's best defenceman in the preseason, I think the Leafs want to take a wait and see with him.
4) The problem isn't so much the defence but the team defensive play. When the forwards are half way down the ice all the time, the defence gets hung out to dry. Faulk nor anyone else would be able to affect this much by themselves. Forwards need to commit to playing defence.

Reacting to situations is one thing, but over reacting should be left to desperate teams with real flaws. (exhibit A: Edmonton)

I completely agree. Faulk is just one of the only top 4 d-man right handed shots in the league that could realistically be traded, just wanted create a discussion of what the trade would look like.

The sooner we sign Nylander the better so that Kapanen's value doesn't get inflated any further, I would love to resign Kapanen to a bridge deal this summer

I think that is almost a lock at this point. Kapanen will be offered a very low 1 year contract this season as a show me contract and then he may get a bigger deal next summer. He has been a 4th liner with great speed for the past 3 seasons and has 1 4 game stretch with Matthews that is causing everyone to go nuts. 4 games does not a career make. Remember Lonny Bohonos? Kapanen needs more than a good stretch to earn a huge contract. This isn't Washington where people throw 5+ million at guys because they are the best at getting suspended.
