I do think the Leafs prefer Pesce over Faulk. I also think Carolina is the more desperate team in this case, as their offense has struggled to put goals in the net, despite outshooting opponents. Just my opinion.

Ya but they don’t want to move Pesce. Contract is to good. Be better off holding him snd trading Faulk for FW or goalie.

Does mot mean they won’t. Just saying.

Do they canes really "need" scoring? They're not even bottom 10 in goals per game. And some of their snipers will for sure pick it up

They are rumoured to be extremely interested in Nylander. Their top 6 would still be strong without Pesce.

Nothing interesting at all for the leafs there, they move on. I don’t even like this trade, no use for rask, would rather keep bracco.

This trade would leave us very tight next year to sign marner and mathews. Not sure why we take on rask

I don’t like the original trade for either team.

It is like you said. They have plenty of potential scoring. The young guns just need more experience that will only come with time.

Canes don’t need scoring, 40 shots a game top line over a PPG, and some of the others are in horror slumps.... when they get through it Canes aren’t gonna have any scoring issues, Pesce also isn’t going anywhere.

I’d have countered with Faulk Saarela Roy and a Buffalo 2nd because Nylander is worth it but eh, it’s whatever.

Why does LTIR Horton have to be included? Carolina doesn't seem to be a team that wants to pay 10m out of pocket for a guy not to play.
Tell us, what is the contract that Nylander is going to sign with Carolina. Is Carolina going to overpay Nylander when they have Aho and Teravainen to sign as RFA next summer.

9 years of no playoffs, they will be desperate. But Nylander isn't being traded so it's a moot point

Horror slumps for 9 years. The canes will once again lead the league in shot differential but still score in the bottom half.

How can you say that when they’re top half of the league in scoring and leading the league far and away in shots per game and shot differential. This slump isn’t 9 years dude that just proves to me you know nothing about Carolina. When Staal, Williams, Foegele, Svechnikov, Zykov, McGinn get going, this is a lineup that’s just scary. Aho is on fire right now and scoring isn’t an issue, hence they’ve not been shut out yet

don’t counter with your best offer, negotiate. yeesh. Lol.

If that’s where it ended i’d be fine with that, i’d sacrifce some prospect depth to hold onto Pesce.

Carolina last made the playoffs in the 80/09 season. This is the 18/19 season, making this the 10th season since they last made the playoffs. When these guys who haven't got it going for the past whatever time frame, finally get going, then they'll be a force. I think this team is okay and they'll become a good team this year but they are not going to be scary. I hope they make the playoffs, you guys deserve some progress. My point is, this team doesn't really have a lot of game breakers. Aho looks good and Svechnikov is deadl but the rest are just other players. Its like Leafs fans saying, "Once Lindholm and Brown get rolling then the offence will be truly terrifying. Depth guys are depth guys and they aren't scary. TO is scary because they have 4-6 guys at the top of their roster that are elite players 4 of them being super elites. Carolina just doesn't have that.

Aho Teravainen Svechnikov are our versions of Matthews Nylabder Marner, Staal = Kadri and that’s not far off in terms of skill either, Williams to Marleau, Foegele to Kapanen, Ferland is a guy you just don’t seem to have, a big pest who’s gonna go get the puck, McGinn and Hyman are about equal, I’m not saying it’s as good as Toronto’s but the offence here is MUCHNESS a better then your giving it credit for, Carolina’s top 6 is outstanding and there isn’t an Andrei Svechnikov in the top 6 yet.... nor a Necas, Zykov.... a load of the young guys aren’t there eat and when they are I repeat this team is gonna be scary

With Pesce’s contract I doubt he’s going anywhere, he’s got a steal of a contract on the deepest blue line in the league. What I mean by that is put the D in order, and now ignore the top 4, Carolina have a guy on the bottom pair in Pesce who imo belongs on a top pairing.

First of all, you don't have a Matthews, or a Tavares. Svechnikov could be a poor mans Laine, Aho is a star and Teravainen is pretty good too. I'd say Marner is better than both though and by a fair amount. Nylander is close to Aho and well ahead of Teravainen. Kapanen is a good player but he's more of a depth guy, (Although if he keeps this up, he'll convince me he's more than that). Ferland is just a depth guy, Hyman while smaller, could be the best forechecker in the entire league. Don't compare the forwards on the two teams, its just a bad idea. Carolina's best are half of TO's best. To any argument you go with I'll just say, Matthews and Tavares. Because you have no match for them.
