That is pretty much what Zaitsev is as well. Brown scored 20 goals as a rookie and since then has been put on the 4th line because of the crazy depth TO has at RW. He'd be top 6 in Edmonton. Brown and Zaitsev for Larsson is fair, if you want a 2nd to make the added cap hit feel less then fine, I think its an overpay but its not a bad deal for TO still. But lets not get crazy here. Don't overvalue Larsson because he was traded for Hall, it was a terrible trade because Larsson isn't at all what Chiarelli thought he was and he still isn't the player Chiarelli thought he was getting, which means you can't trade him for a great package, simply because he isn't worth it.

I'm happy not making the trade. Zaitsev has been good this year. Not much production but he's been an excellent penalty killer and he's been really good in his own zone, despite having a partner who loves to leave guys wide open in front of the net.

He gets the job done, and has been very good positionally in his zone, I've thought he's been much better than last season. He's not terrible.

Laughing uncontrollably here.

Kapanen had 3 solid weeks where he played on Matthews wing. He has 19 career goals. A quick thought without looking at the Oilers roster is that McD>Leon>RNH>Klefbom>Larsson>Nurse, are all better than Kap (You said 4th or 5th best player so I figured I'd just go with a list off the top of my head). He's absolutely better than Brown, but yeah, 4th or 5th best player? Come on.

I get that you're going to bang your head on a wall here, but you're 100% wrong, and you've spent an afternoon overvaluing two mediocre players. When everyone disagrees with you and provides sound, logical arguments against your not-so-great points, it's probably time to move on.

@Lenny7 @LoganOllivier This has gone not in way I hoped for in terms of discussion. I agree with Lenny7 on this one though.. I proposed this to get a discussion going about this base of a deal and all that but it had gone in way I didnt wanted. I would admit my mistake as I always do when Im wrong in doing bad trade but bashing on each other is pure stupidity from any side..
