I think you overpaid Panarin and i dont think WPG wants Beleskey's contract especially since they're in cap hell

Thompson is worth more than Vesey alone.. adding Smith makes it even worse

Jets say no both because they do not need namestmikov and because we cant take bad contracts because we will be in cap hell next year

Big yes from me as well. At first glance I thought WPG had the cap space, but now I see the cap space is limited only to this season and next year it's a completely different story. NYR does not have to trade Beleskey and if against the cap could bury small cap hit in AHL. Though if no Beleskey is included in the trade, I believe the acquired 4th round pick should become a 3rd.

Great point, I also see Namestmikov's two year contract doesn't make the trade compatible. Players like Zuccarello for example who are in the last year of the contract are a much better fit for WPG.

Vesey is having a very good season, much better season than Thompson and Buffalo GM has traded for Vesey in the past. Smith evens the trade out and Buffalo seems to have the cap space.

If not Chicago, I believe there are other GM's out there that would be interested enough in Shattenkirk to trade last season's 3rd round pick and this years 3rd round pick.

You should look into a teams roster before making those kinds of trades. Chicago is probably the farthest team possible from making a deal like that.

Sabres say no, and Vesey has already said no to Buffalo. This is Thompson's first full year in the NHL and hes playing with one of the worst centers in the league most of the time. Sabres get worse and eat more salary, doesn't make any sense

I believe Shattenkirk would be a great fit in Chicago. But from a NYR perspective this would simply be taking minimal back in trade, so there's enough cap room to sign Panarin and Karlsson. Ibid if not Chicago, than I'm sure other teams have interest. Thank you for the Chicago insight.

Vesey said no to Buffalo when Buffalo wasn't a very good team. Let's see how Vesey's stats keep progressing come the trade deadline. But if a different prosepect instead of Thompson needs to be included, I don't see it being a big deal.

Same reason why a Faulk to Chicago trade is pointless with Jokiharju and Murphy at the right side already with Boqvist and Mitchell joining them there as well what sense does this make for Chicago to take 6 million in cap and complicate signing young players like Kahun, Jokiharju, DeBrincat, Strome through the duration of Shattenkirk's contract?

DIFFERENT GM in Bufalo

And there’s issues with a lot of this other stuff too
-EDM isn’t trading for a rental, not unless they realistically get into the playoff race
-Chicago & Winnipeg need to get rid of salary, not add more to their cap issues

U gotta look at trades from both sides
It’s not a video game

Just what Hawks need another aging 6m Dman. No team wants Shattenkirk without giving money back to Rangers. Just what the lottery bound Oilers wants, giving up futures for a one year rental.,andbelow average player in Zucccharello. Why to Rangers so overrate this years version of Zucc in any trade?

Seriously? McLeod was a 2nd round pick last year who's currently putting up just ok stats in his FOURTH year in juniors. He is not yet signed to a contract and there's a good chance he won't ever be good enough to be signed to a contract. Anyone who thinks McLeod is untouchable in trade by EDM is not living in hockey reality. The current going rate for Zuccarello is a 2nd & 3rd round draft choice, that is until he hits a hot streak over the two months rising his trade value to a 1st round draft pick.

How could you say a 2nd & 3rd is overrating Zuccarello and a 3rd & another 3rd is over rating Shattenkirk? I assure you that if not with the team I've selected in trade, there will be plenty of GM's at the deadline willing to give up such an asking price.

First off, don't make false judgments regarding seeing things from both sides and it not being a video game. It's abnoxious and Insulting! How would you like it if people judged you based on your distorted belief that Thompson has anywhere near the talent level of Vesey? Thompson has already been traded by his drafted team. In 74 NHL games played Thompson has 7G, 9A, 16PTS, -20. Only 20 PIM. Thompson is playing on the 4th line and will be sent down to the AHL at the trade deadline when players like Vesey are added to Buffalo's roster. Unless of course Thompson is traded for said players like Vesey.

Rumors are starting to percolate about CHI clearing out D-men and cap space for Shattenkirk...

And for the record... I see Capfriendly as a resource, not a video game! Thanks to this great resource I've confirmed that I'm right in just about everything I've posted here. Except I should have switched Namestnikov and Zuccarello, now thanks to the great insight from the Capfriendly participants I am now aware of the slight switch I should have originally made.

So... What other issues were you referring too?

Vesey is a rising star progressing nicely in the NHL... While Thompson is a 4th line player on his way back to the AHL as soon as reinforcements arrive for Buffalo at this years trade deadline. How in the world could anyone believe Thompson is better than Vesey? And the person who liked you comment should be ashamed of themselves!

It's a process in which Chicago clears out D-men and $$$ salary cap space, just like their currently doing, so they could have the roster room and $$$ cap space to aquire a D-man like Shattenkirk. Let me know if you have any other questions?

Why do you feel that way? When you look at Chicago's roster, what is it you see that I don't see? Because when I look into Chicago's roster, I see the current players on the roster being a perfect fit Shattenkirk compared to NYR not being a good fit. Maybe you should start looking at rosters differently than you currently do.
