While the deal could be fair, I'm actually surprised to say that I think Marner and Rielly have more to the Leads together than Mcdavid will bring.

I don't know.... a center core of McDavid, Tavares, Matthews, Kadri would be ridiculous to face.

No way McDavid gets dealt without Matthews being involved, Fat chance Marner signs that low. Try at least $9.5 million per for 7 years minimal probably even 7 years @ $10 million per for Marner.

It would be. The offense would be fantastic. But no defense at all. So I really think Marner+Rielly > Mcdavid right now headed into the playoffs.

Where are your RHDs? I agree with someone above...I think Marner and Rielly bring better value to the Leafs than without them. Those four centers together would make for quite a lineup though.

If mcdavid was somehow traded it would involve a young superstar center like matthews, petterson or eichel as a focal point.

I think you’re right - Marner will get more. Likely in the range of $10M a season. Given tha, would you do the deal if the leafs retained 1.5 M of Reilly’s salary?
