It's worth it as hell! A potential 11-17 pick and a 4th overall guy! Think about it

It's not 3.3 million for 10 years. Just use the buyout calculator. Its brutal, his contract was designed to be buyout proof. Some of the years it still has a cap hit of 5.625 million. It was designed to be unable to buyout unfortunately

Worst contract in the league. That being said a 1st round pick + Poolparty gets the job done. Montreal bites the bullet and keeps the guy for the 4th line

10 years of a buyout is way too much. As long as you have cap space you're better to AHL bury players....you get some cap relief and it reduces the number of buyout years. Keep Lucic for one year then cap hit average is about 2.8m a year. Still don't think it's worth it for Montreal though.

This trade is worth it for my entertainment alone to see Lucic in a Habs sweater playing against the Bruins.

It's a horrible contract buyout BUT i'd bite the bullet for that trade.

buyout tool on this site says 8 years at a cap hit of 3,625,000 5,625,000 4,125,000 5,625,000 then 4 years at 625,000 (if bought out this summer)
he has no value as a player so no point playing him
so basically 4 years at 5 million (average) then 4 years at 625,000
for
Puljujarvi and a 1st, which will probably be top 10. I think the habs could justify it. However if the Oilers did that, they might as well have kept chiarelli

Believe it or not I think if we get lucic it might spark him being on this team. Julien will like him, he’s friends with Gallagher, would get along with Shaw and domi he’s a big player. And if he’s bad buy him out in 3 years . Also try to get Edmonton to retain 1 mill
