Description
Looking for honest criticism.

From the MTL point of View. It's not Poehling, Cale Fleury, Ylonen, Brook, or Juulsen. It's hardly selling the future if you trade 1 prospect away and still get another solid prospect in return. You need to give a prospect (or prospects) to rebuilding teams for immediate need.

Gus and Artem Anisimov can transform your Power Play. Gus is the Left Hand Left D Power Play quarterback that the 30th PP in the league needs. AA probably on the 2nd unit, but he's the net front presence you need and you don't have to give up NEARLY as much as you would for Schenn AND THEN a LD.

Chad Krys is another Prospect that's ready to compete literally next year.

One tournament doesn't make a prospect an NHL star. Look at Fillip Gustaffson. His 3.51 GAA isn't exactly wowing anyone, but he was "the next Carey Price". Can he still be a good goalie...Oh heck yeah, but again 1 tournament doesn't make a prospect.

I do understand that. You're making him sound like he's Rasmus Dahlin or Miro Heisk or even at the level of Henri Jokiharju…also 19 playing 19:15 ATOI in the freakin NHL...not KHL with 2 points. Henri was sent down due to their official tanking, but let's be real about who he is. He's an A- prospect. That doesn't mean he can't be those guys in the long term...that doesn't mean Chad Krys can't be either for the record. Romanov is a GOOD prospect that's on track for NHL success in a few years. No bones about it. I wouldn't be trading for him if I thought he stunk. BUT MTL's needs are glaring and I think these moves solve those needs while only affecting their system a little...AS ANY TDL move would do.

1. Marc Bergevin not trading for a 30 age dead weight center and Gustafsson is ass.
2. Romanov is A Prospect
3. This is one awful worst trade seen on this website.

I don’t think Chicago does this. Gus has to much value to pair him with Anisimov.

I'm beginning to love MTL fans on this site. The other fans I've seen covet the C prospects, all of the top 4 are future 1st liners.

AA would actually be a top 6 winger for them, is good at getting in front of the net, and could help on the PP. Gustafsson would help add depth and help on the PP. MTL should get in the playoffs, and then if Price gets hot, they actually have a shot at the Cup.

But hey, feel free to wait on the prospects while Price is still in his prime.

If I’m CHI I totally do this. Helps MTL for the future and helps MTL now and a bit down the road in Gus.

There might be a deal to be worked out around Gustafsson going to MTL, but adding a guy like Anisimov, who has 2 PP points this season both assists, and would be at best a 3rd line winger at even strength just seems like a cap dump in this situation. Also Gustafsson's 60% offensive zone starts makes me think he might not be the best partner for Weber, which is what MTL needs in order to slot the rest of the left side into position to not be over their heads. Krys might be interesting but I don't see a swap of him for Romanov by either team, to much bad PR for management to "give up" on them this early.

MTL easily declines this deal.

Absolutely Habs would have interest in Gustafsson (and the price for a guy like him is probably a 1st + solid prospect), Habs would love to bolster their LD, they don't do that by trading their only legitimate LD prospect in their system. I won't go as far as saying Romanov is an Elite prospect, but everyone (analyst and insiders) are saying he's projecting to be a top 4 Dman. This would be incredibly counter intuitive to the direction the Habs are currently on. They aren't and won't be buyers this year. This trade still wouldn't make them contenders, so why give up so much.

So MTL would be looking to do a hockey trade if Gustafsson is available. Not a package deal. One last note, Habs have zero interest in AA (and have no need for him. At Center MTL are starting to have too many guys, Danault, KK, Domi, then the prospect pool of Suzuki, Poehling, Olofsson, Evan, etc. And Habs have too many middle 6 wingers that they know what to do with) but giving Krys to take on his contract could be an appealing deal. But I would do that separately from a Gustafsson trade.
