Winnipeg - Something Brewing

Created by: ChiHawk
Team: 2018-19 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 21, 2019
Published: Feb. 21, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
2 Winnipeg scouts were at the last Chicago game and 2 Chicago scouts were at the last Winnipeg game. It's safe to assume talks are happening and it has to do with player for player not just draft picks. The question is who?

A couple ideas...rumors of Laine or Eihlers being on the move may be true.

WPG is going to be cap crunched next year so I don't see them adding to that issue by taking on Anisimov

It was the same with 2 Blues scouts last night as well. I have my honest opinions it might before later games scouting how they play, but I looked Blues don't have them on the schedule unless they were looking into playoffs. It might be Trouba or Laine being scouted for a trade.

Yes, but there is something brewing between these teams and Winnipeg needs bottom 6 offense. I don't see the Jets needing defense especially with their prospects, so not sure who else it could be knowing the Hawks are shopping Anisimov. Maybe Saad but again he's a higher cap hit.

There are rumors brewing Laine might be on the move...good point.

You dont think this may be a conflict of interest being that they may play one another in the first round?

Winnipeg will do something big. That deal you've proposed seems small to me. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them unload huge for both Duchene and Stone, although I am not sure what that would entail as far as NHL players that would be coming off of the Jets and going the other way.

Laine wont be moved...He is only 20...Lowry is too good at a low cap to be moved as well.

Would Murphy or Keith(retained) be on the move???

Probably just making the rounds on potential first round matchups tbh, I can't imagine we have anything they'd want

Unless its a 3 team trade with someone like Artem going to OTT or something...with WPG and playing prospects(of WPG) going to CHI

Do the Jets need D? I thought they are stacked in the prospect pool?

The reports say that Keith will not waive but the only place would be the Jets if he did. There's been zero talk about Murphy. Forsling, Gus, Hayden and Anisimov is all the talk in the Chicago and a little bit of Saad. Maybe Eihlers gets traded for someone from the Hawks?

If Laine gets moved won’t be til offseason. They are making a run and you can trade his RFA rights in the offseason

No, too early for that. There is a reason scouts fill stadiums right before the TDL. For 2 scouts to be there from both teams at both games says a lot. There is definitely trade talks happening, whether a trade happens hard to say just trying to speculate who the two clubs are talking about with each other.

I don't know, speculating all kinds of scenarios. Since you know chevy so well, who do you think it is?

I would think they would want Gustafsson. They have Trouba/Buff/Myers on the right, but then Morrissey and ...Chiarot on the left. They could use a guy like him, and they have said that their 1st is up for grabs.

Don't know but not moving laine is common sense trading a 20 year old sniper who already has 100 nhl goals...... and has already shown his commitment to Winnipeg Chevy isn't stupid

But given the scouts the Hawks sent, there is more to it with a player coming back. Hawks think they can get a 1st and a prospect for Gus so the question is, if Gus is in the cards, what prospect were they watching that was playing?

    I doubt they'll get a 1st and a top prospect, but maybe a 1st and a fringe roster player. Nic Petan/Brendan Lemieux?
