I like the Carolina deal but the problem becomes he is only signed for 1 year? After that....he would/will be demanding big coin.

    Something to think about....

I'd rather keep Nylander and not spend $4+ mil on Ferland. Nylander plus a 1st is very short sighted for 1 year of Faulk. I'd rather offer less tern/money and make the money work that way.

Also I would have to think Ennis can get more money elsewhere.

I dont think the CAR-TOR trade works for both teams. Leafs dont give up Nylander, i dont understand why people think hes being traded. when in HISTORY have you seen someone traded less then a year after signing a long term contract. I think TOR can look at other options at the Deadline and on July 1s

You don't understand the Marleau contact and why is might be traded if you think a team is going to pay him 3m.
Way too much for one year of Faulk. 5 years of Nylander and a first rounder? The purpose of a Nylander trade is get rid of cap, not to just net 2.m

Here are my concerns/opinions on this ACGM

    1. If Marleau retires then he stops getting paid. His cap hit remains...but if the Leafs trade him to Ottawa, they are assuming $6.25m in cap without having to pay an actual dime
    2. If Marleau retires, the leafs should be able to get all their other RFA's signed...at least on 1-3 year terms.....moving Marleau AND Brown should give plenty of wiggle room
    3. Asuming 2. above, the trading of Nylander to acquire a d-man should be more focussed on equal value and not obtaining a smaller cap hit
    4. IMO, Faulk would be the Leafs' 4th choice of Carolina RHD man behind Pesce, Hamilton and Adam Fox. I'd be very disappointed if this was the return for Nylander...for that matter, I'd be very disappointed if that was the return for Kapanen
    5. Not sure why Timashov and the 1st are included along with Drury and Lafontaine. If you love Jack and Jack then maybe that helps tip the scales for you....but for me (just my opinion..to each their own) this is not a deal I would go anywhere near.

I thought the addition of prospects would even out the trade.
They are unsigned from the Carolina pipeline.

    Guess i was wrong

Is the concept of moving Kadri or even Nylander or high prospects enough???

I originally wanted to move Kadri for that package, but was still over the cap too much.
