------

VGK-TOR

Leafs give up Kadri & a B level Prospect to VGK in order to get that RHD with a retained salary, VGK i think would love a #3 Center in Kadri with grit. I love the fit for both teams.

Don't see an issue with Kadri having Vegas on his 10 Team M-NTC. Only issue i see is if Vegas does not want to trade Miller at 50% Retained.

Colin Millers has been scratched a few times this year by VGK but i think thats more of VGK already has very capable RH dcore and don't need him in their Top 4 & his Corsi numbers are nuts.

----

EDM-TOR

EDM was linked to Brown at the deadline but it was reported they ran out of time before a deal was made. I think Dubas and EDMs GM come together and finish the deal at the draft table.

----

Johnsson has already bridged in the contract expiring so i don't see him wanting to bridge again, if he does it will be along the lines of 1 year at like 2.4m. Bridge Kap until 2020-2021 so they can have the cap space to sign him to a 4-5 year deal.

Add Marleau to that no-trade list and then it is a challenge.

I had him as a no trade in my mind (As you can see hes still on the roster) I think it has to be Kadri that gets moved, i dont see any other way out of it.

I hate Kadri and all, but that’s a bad deal for the Leafs.

Id have to disagree,Leafs are trading a position in strength in their forward depth in order to get what they desperately need, a Top 4 RHD & cap space.

Edit: Should say this is while Kadri has struggled this year, hes been amazing for the Leafs but i just dont see any other way out of this, they have the depth to replace him as a #3 C.

Unless you trade Kadri for an NHL ready RHD on a ELC i dont see the leafs getting a better deal. (Should Clarify by Better Deal its just there is like maybe 1-2 RHD that meet the requirements the leafs need with the cap constraints they have) only other one would be Gudas but i don't see PHI parting with him)

There's no chance you're getting Vegas to retain 50% on Miller. He's still a bonafide top 4 right handed shot, those are valuable.

As for Kadri, I agree he's the one likely to be moved. I've had some talks on here with some Dallas fans and we saw eye to eye on a fair deal:
    Dallas gets:
    Nazem Kadri

    Toronto gets:
    Mattias Janmark
    Julius Honka
Dallas 2022 2nd round pick (Dallas doesn't have their next 2 right now and the 2022 draft is deeper)

Toronto doesn't get market value for Kadri, but gets the cap space free'd up. Janmark is a middle 6 mongers with speed and a decent shot, Honka has struggled to develop but could still turn into a 3-4 right handed dman

With that retention you have in effect made Kadri a 6.4m player. Seems impractical for Vegas.

Vegas doesn’t match up great with Toronto in a Kadri trade. They are gonna be right up against the cap this summer. Also Miller is their only RHD under contract past this season

Now add ozhiganov to that list... if leafs don’t re sign him he goes back to the khl. He came here to play for the leafs only. Oh and he will be re signed.... so put him on the roster.

I already did something similar. It is looking more and more like it will be either Kadri/brow or marleau retirement.

And here one from further back... fun one.

There are about 10-15 rhd that match your criteria better than Gudas and miller.... start with mayfield... bowey.... Myers....(phillipe not Tyler lol). The two you mentioned are not better than zaitsev...
