What a website thinks Detroit could trade to get McDavid

Description
My buddy texted me with a link to a website rumoring McDavid wants out of EDM and what some teams could trade to get McDavid. The 1st trade is what the website thought the Red Wings could give up for Zadina but I don't think it's nearly enough. Edmonton definitely needs defensemen but Hicketts is not the difference maker that should be coming over in a McD trade. AA and Mantha are both good pieces that I could see in a realistic scenario, so I think they got that part right. Zadina would also 100% be included in a McD trade as our best prospect, but I don't think Rasmussen would be included as I don't think Edmonton would need another center prospect.

The 2nd trade is my re-working with what I would find more realistic. Any trade for McDavid starts with a team's best player, and Larkin would be the elite center that would be sent back to take McDavid's spot. Draisatl and Larkin would be a good 1-2 punch at center to start Edmonton's rebuild. Like I said previously, Mantha or AA would be good pieces to send but I think AA's speed and ability to play 3rd line center or on Draisatl or Larkin's wing would attract Edmonton more. Zadina is included as our best forward prospect. Edmonton would also want one of our best defensive prospects to help their blue line, but I wasn't sure which one to include. Lastly, a 1st round pick to seal the deal.

What do you guys think? Did this website have an accurate idea of a McDavid trade? What needs to be added/taken out of the re-working to make it more fair?

Don’t see it happening. Don’t see McDavid asking for a trade, and don’t see Detroit offering enough for him. If the crazy were to happen, I would love to see McDavid, Larkin, and AA, all playing on the same team. The speed would be unimaginable, not a team in the league would be able to keep up

Except Colorado. Bring on the return to the rivalry! LOL!

The rivalry wouldn't work now. It started in the playoffs when The Wings and Avs met in the playoffs year after year.

I agree, don't see it happening but thought it would be fun to gauge what a better trade would be than what this site offered

That's almost Detroit's entire core for one player. He is the most skilled player in the league but McDavid isn't worth all those players. If he was Edmonton would be a lock for the playoffs every year and might even have a ring by now.

As Detroit, I wouldn’t be willing to trade the first package for him and no way in hell the second. As said above, that’s their entire core and as we see in Edmonton, one player doesn’t win you the cup.
The first package is kind of reasonable though, I just wouldn’t want to do it because you need all of those players and the cap hit they take doesn’t even add up to McDavid’s

You do realise that the second part of that was a joke?
