B's say NO...Mc is not being traded.
The Cap won't be an issue for Boston so Backes can be a 4th liner until he's off the books

Not necessarily saying they are. Its simply determining whether this would be an acceptable deal.

I don't think it matters who you direct it, it's not an acceptable deal. Boston would ask for Zib right out if the gate if they were dealing McAvoy.

Big no from Boston. By big no, I mean slamming the phone. 1. Shat. isn't on our list, 6M Dman? Hell no. Kreider is a maybe but probably no, who is Keane anyways. 2. Yes, we would like Backes off but M-NMC isn't going to be waived to New York (maybe islanders but 100% not rangers). And no, we aren't trading McAvoy, we can sign him for a 8 by 7. We could also play hardball to play it for lower. The value is completely biased. After this call, Boston will probably never pick up anymore Ranger calls for trades or anything. AND McAvoy is not getting 6.5

And still far from value, and no reason to do that trade. Only way that he gets traded would be if Boston's socks are blown off with an offer including a better player than McAvoy. Who isn't much older.

Also, why would Ottawa give you a pick for those players?

I know Avs were interested in Namestnikov but I dont see 2 draft picks for him...I could see the Avs 3rd and a guy like Andrighetto. The Sens 3rd round pick is 63rd overall, theres a lot of value in that pick still and I dont think Namestnikov fetches that

Yeah because I'm sure Dorion has ever laughed and hung up on someone. He definitely falls under the category of a competent GM.

My point is a rebuilding Ottawa team has no desire for a 30 year old fringe NHL player with 2 more years at OVER 4 million dollars unless we're getting something decent out of taking him off your hands. But instead of doing that you toss in an ECHL left handed D man (which is the ONLY position Ottawa actually has covered next season between Chabot, Wolanin, Brannstrom, Boro, Harpur... ) AND ask us for a pick. Even a drunk monkey in a GM suit wouldn't make that trade. A reasonable offer would be NYR giving OTT their own 2019 3rd from the COL trade for taking Brandon Smith's contract and OTT giving NYR their 2020 6th round pick.
