Gardiner is a UFA. 6x6 or so? Would definitely help your left side. You would benefit from having 1 other though.

I have a post coming out soon and on there I have Brodin and a 2nd for Drouin. Any thoughts on that.
My thinking is pretty much top 6 FW for top 4 D but we get the 2nd because Brodin under performed this year plus a Drouin is a year younger. Fair?

I'd add T.J. Brodie and maybe Ryan Murray. Maybe Gardiner as UFA...

The amount of the Ds available depends really much on how much you're ready to give up for them.

Yeah, Isles have Sbisa who is UFA. Won’t cost you any assets...just a contract.

Drouin only exacerbates our issue of having too many LW's. Yeah, yeah, I know he has played center but we don't really have room for him there either with Staal, Koivu, Eriksson Ek, and Sturm already penciled in for next year.

I do think it's possible Brodin could be traded, but the Habs are probably the worst trading partners for us unless they want to give up the 15th overall pick (which I highly doubt they do).

The reason why the Islanders lost that 20th series to the Oilers was Mike's bad back. To me, he's still one of the two greatest RW's I've gotten to see throughout my lifetime (the other being Teemu Selanne).
