FWIW Ken Holland is the most conservative GM in the league, Other then maybe a Lucic for Eriksson deal. I wouldn't get my hopes up that he becomes the Oilers saviour.

LA declines, TOR laughs, Callahan won't waive and why on earth would WSH be paying to get rid of Niskanen who's actually quite good?

You say you are curious for thoughts so heres my take. First off all these trades are lopsided in favour of Edmonton. If you trade the 2019 1st to LA instead of 2020 1st then that trade is more plausible but I doubt it could ever happen. Pul and Sekera together could get you Kapanen if you add a mid round pick but if you want Kadri it would cost more and i dont think he is available. Nurse and Larsson could get you Kadri and Kapanen Im sure but thats alot to give up. Tampa needs to save cap so you would have to take on more than just Callahan and give them prospects and picks. Niskanen is a solid player and Washington would want pieces back for him, maybe a 2nd or a B prospect

Tampa says no. Callahan on has a year left of his deal. If it costs much to get rid of him they may as well just hang onto him for a year and out his money towards Vasy's extension.

Kadri and Kapanen for Larsson and Puljujarvi would work but nothing else here would. LA wouldn't pay that price to obtain Edmonton's 2020 first-rounder and Niskanen is too valuable for Washington to move him for only a fourth and a fifth, so adding those Capitals draft picks is ridiculous.

What? Really? Legit curious what you think he is going to fetch? Can't go one for one, need that cap room. Not getting a 1st rnd (right?). High water is a low 2nd rnd? I would rather have Sek at 3.5, and Pul who are both NHLrs.

Puljujarvi isn't an NHLer. He needs proper development before he gets that opportunity. Sekera is a cap dump and an injury waiting to happen. He'd be lucky to crack Toronto's 3rd pair d. I'd take Rosen or Dermott or Zaitsev over him any day.

Pul should be ready to play this coming year.. . Getting on 4 years now.. agree on what his development path should have been though. Sek has had health issues for sure, your under valuing a healthy sek though.
