I know you're trade says it's the Toronto retained salary but it appears that you ended up having Pitt retain another 1.2, so you're actually over the cap right now. Also I think Pitt would want more. They're still planning to be in win now mode so a Phil trade would probably require an NHL player with more offensive upside than Nieto to replace him, or a defensive upgrade. At least that's what I hope as a Pens fan.

Yup that’s fair. Would kerfoot interest you guys? 16th + kerfoot + OTT 3rd? As for the cap hit thingy, when I added him it said his salary would be 8 mil. But Toronto retained 1.2 to make the cap hit 6.8 which is what would be going to the avs

No way that duchene signs in Colorado, probably hayes in that scenario, also Wilson is gone, maybe bring kamenev upto the second line with hayes and kessel

No one was saying that until their run, coming into the season they were considered a bubble team. going into next year they will be considered contenders. Of course this all depends on how sakic manuevers this offseason.
