I like the idea a lot, I don't know how I feel about signing Myers though, Jets have some defensive depth on the rise. I also like re-signing Brandon Tanev as he is a major part in our success. A lot of rumours of issues between Schiefele and Lowry, I suspect a trade coming here before the start of the 2019-2020 season if they cannot resolve issues. I think Chevy will have some issues with Laine and his contract as he wants long term and at least 10 mil a year. I do like the dumping of Perreault and his contract! Nice work!

I did it as it looks like he may re-sign....Byf is gone in 2 years so its not like the younger guys can't come up...Most of the D on the Moose are not ready except Poolman

Yeah I see that, I think Niku will be ready next year as well. Jets have a lot of internal issues they have to figure out right now, I wouldn't be surprised to see Schiefele get traded if they can't resolve their issues.

Tanev is a PLUG! He is a drag on this team, either he or Maurice (preferably both)needs to go if this team is ever going to get better.

I don't understand why we have to give away assets to buyout Darling.

Tanev is a stud, he plays hard each and every game and shows up everytime. I agree on the fact that Maurice may be out the door if things don't go as planned within 20 games. If you take a look at our team the past two years. Which line has always showed up and gotten their job done? The Tanev, Lowry and Copp line. When they play together, they are unreal, they can shut down any teams top line on any night. They held the jets together all regular season and never did it seem like they faded away at anytime during the year. Maurice is a moron for ever splitting these guys apart as they anchor the jets. Schiefele and Lowey have their issues going on right now and unless it is resolved, I see a big change coming with the team. Also, Laine will not sign long term in WPG unless he is getting 10mil at the least. I think Connor and Laine should get bridge deals at this time to give Chevy some room to work with so we can win now.

Niku is on this team...As for Scheifele, unless its really bad, I doubt he will go...not at 6.125M, he is too valuable

We aren't...We need to get rid of Perreault(and get picks back) and Darling will actually only cost us 750K for 4 years...and if he has mental issues, it will be less as he can go on the LTIR.

Oh it's pretty bad, I'm not sure what you've heard but it's pretty darn bad. I hope they can resolve it though as Schiefele is a great player on a great contract.

Perreault isn't a cap dump, he is a 30-40 point winger, has some positive value. Also looking at the long-term out look its seems like we are on the hook for ~6 million for Darling if he doesn't go on LTIR. I may be missing something, but I just don't really see how this helps us.

Darling is at 4.25M over 2 years(CAR is retaining)...thats why its only 750K if we buy him out.

My point is we get two picks for Perreault and Comrie(who will be picked up on waivers anyways) and to sweeten it we pay out 3M over 4 years for their cap dump

If Rangers were to add Shattenkirk to that deal and retain 50% (3,325,000), would you be willing to switch that first round pick to the 2nd round pick acquired from Dallas in the Zuccarello trade (#49) or the pick from Tampa (#58)?
Shattenkirk (50%)
Howden
Pionk
#49 or #58

Trouba -sign and trade

Good gawd he is terrible! And last season Lowry and Copp were WAY more effective when they had Armia on that line, now there's a guy they missed all season, one of Chevy's worst decision was that trade to dump Mason, cost him the best 3rd line RW in the league.

Mark my words the Jets will never win anything with Tanev in the lineup if Maurice is the coach cause he'll give Tanev way too much ice time. Yes I know that line does okay in a shutdown role but when they play basically 2nd line minutes and not one of them gets to the 30 point mark you've got a massive problem, Copp is the only one from that line that's worthy of being on the 3rd line.

That issue you speak of sounds impossible to resolve in the long term, they need to make a bold trade and start a major retool of the roster. It'll be painful for a bit but they should be able to get a solid return for him, ultimately I see no other option.
