right, he would only waive to go to Detroit and not win just bc Yzerman is in the organization which you dont see your GM on a daily basis. Thats smart, go rot in Detroit bc they have a GM you use to play under
Or he would waive his NMC to go play with Mack, Rants, Makar, etc and have a chance to win a cup.

D is Detroit's most lacking position right now. MacIsaac out 5 to 6 months after shoulder surgery and Sulak going to the KHL next season. If there was a chance that Byram being there at #6 they'd take him. Plus Stamkos is almost who is almost 30 I'm pretty sure he'd choose Colorado over Detroit they are much closer than the Wings who might not even make the playoffs next season. Plus $8.5M a season when Detroit needs to resign 3 members of it's core the oldest of which is 24.

I do think Colorado is much better choice since they will take Byram is there at #4. That is just my opinion.

they made the playoffs back to back years, one of the youngest rosters in the league had a top 10 offence last season and just added one of the Top prospects in the game in Makar, oh and have 34m in cap space this offseason to add a high price UFA. When you have guys like Friedman and Marek saying they are his early central division winner for next season.

Right must only be Avs fans who think that

Makar is no longer a prospect IMO. There is just about a 0% chance he plays a single game in the AHL next season.

just added....past tense, he was considered one of the Top Prospects not in the NHL and shown not only he can play in this league, at times dominate while in the NHL playoffs.

statement of Just added is intended tp be past tense, what is this a grammar friendly forum. You want to spend multiple posts trying to argue about the semantics of referring to Makar as one of the Top Prospects last season?

You're the one who corrected me! Read my post again and you will see.

Add and about are different words with different meanings.

You brought up the semantics of calling him a Prospect at this point in a statement that was about the Avs in the playoffs. You started it

I agree he was quite good, but for the most part Colorado was carried by their top line.

Also by Good Goaltending, Good Coaching, Good Depth scoring in the playoffs, A good D core, oh you know a good young team (one of the youngest in the NHL last year) on the rise but hey you do you with your false narrative bc you are just still mad that Avs didnt over pay for Kevin Hayes and the rest of the stuff you wanted them to do all season and at the TDL

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I do not recall claiming that Hayes would fetch multiple top prospects and first rounders.
I’m actually happy with the return we got for Hayes.
Out of all the things you could have possibly said, you go with being butthurt over a good Hayes trade. Lmao
All I said is that Colorado got carried by their top line for the most part. They have a bright future and will be good for years to come, but in this years playoff, it was the Mackinnon line that kept them in it for the most part. At least, that was what I observed. I’m not denying that there were other contributors lol

the majority of Rangers fans on this site were adamant about the Hayes price on the Avs bc of that same claim...they dont have depth scoring, so they are goign to give up the Sens pick, Kaut, Makar, etc etc for him.

It was the opposite in the Second round, it was the depth scoring that came up big against the Sharks, Mack just ran a train against the Flames bc they flames had no idea what to do with his speed. Burns and Vlasic had Mack neutralized the majority of that series.

Thats just a lazy narrative, Avs were carried by their top line the whole year? yet they had one of the better offence (Goals For) last year...Tenth in the league while being one of the youngest. Everyone can make the claim about their own team oh we will be better bc of the natural progression of our youth, but when it comes to slagging on the Avs, that doesnt count? If anything its more true with the Avs with how young that team is and they get more growth out of their young guys to help out the top line a little more

You sure were cocky at the start of this thread laughing at Avs fans thinking their team is good, what happened to that LOL tone of yours

I went back to my previous armchair gm teams, and I am proud to say that I was not one of those NYR fans who expected COL to play a hefty price for Hayes.
I also never said their top line carried them season long, I said that they kept them in it for a relatively large portion of the playoffs.
I did not watch every single game, but that is what I observed.
I apologize if I offended you

you didnt offend me just puzzled how someone can scoff at the Avs going into next season...you said "They got carried by their top line and they think the team as a whole is amazing. LOL"

On of the youngest teams in the league, already superstars and not even entering their prime...have a pairing of 2 20 year old Dmen who shown that now only can they play, but take over a game in the NHL playoffs, and are about the add the 4th overall pick and enter free agency with 34m in cap space, roughly 14m after they sign all their own RFAs. This team is about to go Nuclear for next season, yet you came in Hot with such a comment like that, its just puzzling

I’m not denying that they have great assets and that they’ll be very good soon. I just said that their team as a whole was not the best, and that their top line was what kept them in it during many instances. I apologize once again.
