Personally I wouldn't want to lose a mid to early 1st rd pick for someone like Leddy (and it's not like putting a condition of a top 20 protection is gonna happen lol). Not that he doesn't warrant one. It's only because if Habs would be up for moving a 1st. I'd much rather go after someone like Ghost (younger, better offensively, higher potential) and add another piece or two.

From our past discussions, I think if Habs were to be discussing with NYI, Pelech would be the target I'd go after. Bergevin said that he's willing to spend assets on young NHL dmen. Not sure Leddy fits into that anymore. and It's not like the Isles HAVE to shed Leddy's salary either. looking at your roster, you still have over $23mil in cap space.
