The purpose of trading the competent Zaitsev is to get cap space. not to take back the inflated Sutter and Spooner contracts.

There is no way Boston doesn't match to keep MacAvoy. He's one of the best defensemen in the league.

Are we just gonna ignore the fact that A) McAvoy is going to double that salary at the very least, B) McAvoy would never sign an offer sheet for that amount, and C) Boston would match that contract in a heartbeat if he did sign it.

Taking on a crap contract in Nylander also....so 11.5 mill, getting two roster players and a rated D prospect. Sutter allows the move of Kadri for anything you want...like an affordable and effective DMan. Van may benefit from another Swede- but Nylander is unproven since the signing. Zaitsev in a poor man's Reilly....can the Buds keep them both? Other teams hope so- love the holes on D.

He's good- one of the best in the league? Then Van could take Krug LOL. Van should go right up to the 2nd round pick cap on an offer. If it falls through- Van can chase another 3.5-4.0 DMan to fill out (Ristolainen even)

Boston wants to trade Krug he's basically been on the block all season. They know Krug is going to be very expensive to sign. Plus Krug is 28 and McAvoy is only 21. I know if I had to choose I'd take McAvoy. Boston fans on this site have had Krug in these mock trades since the start of the season.

McAvoy cannot be offered sheeted simliar to how Boeser cannot be offer sheeted. Also Charlie McAvoy is looking at getting 7-8 miilion dollar. Why are you adding Loui Erikisson, because Edmonton has to add more than poolparty to get rid of lucic extra year and nmc.

i mean the title is accurate, but that's about it... c'mon man you're giving nucks fans a bad rap here.

do you know how the offer sheet process works? this post would indicate no.
do you realize TOR's cap situation? again, this post would indicate no.
VAN traded a 2nd for Baertschi... his stock has fallen based on concussion and injury issues, IF OTT is interested, IMO the most we get back is a third

I would like to see a deal that sent Boeser to Boston and brought Krug to Vancouver. Add some spare parts and see what comes. Doubt either team would do that because both players are betrothed to their cities. Boeser is one of the best "people" on the Canucks and Krug- while undersized- has the heart that is needed to compete. I would sign him to an extension in Vancouver in a heartbeat instead of pursuing the likes for Jordie Benn and Tyler Myers....given him a 6 or 8 year extension....

Lucic has already said he would come to Vancouver. As a big body- his life line in the new game is pretty good in front of the net and he has good hands. Eriksson plays a different style of game and the Oilers have shown the ability to restart careers and scoring touches. There is just no where for him to play in Vancouver anymore. 3rd line in Edmonton with occasional 2nd line or 2nd PP time?

Take whatever you can get for Baertschi. His time in Vancouver is over now with the top two lines formed. keep him another year and we lose all benefits of his upside...much like Tanev. Also moving out way more salary from TO than they are taking on. And shorter terms. The buds won't part with the two youngest guys or Marner IMO so next best is to clear some of their problem children and see what comes.

If not McAvoy then there are others out there in the 4-5mill range that can be sheeted and move forward. Problem with ALL that is that no owners will honour the system in placefor fear of revenge signings et al.

I don't know if Boston would want to or could afford Boeser I would think if they had the extra cap space they would try to keep Krug. Myers is going to get expensive Winnipeg having to move Trouba I think they make a effort to resign Meyers and without Trouba maybe he ups his game.

I would like to see Vancouver move Boeser as he screams "Me me me" like Kesler did.....when it comes to money - I doubt there is any hope of a home team discount. and he shows up not ready for camp...well he has. Maybe that changes? If the 'Nucks can move Boeser for a legitimate young 1 or 2 D-Man then they should. Or if they can move him for an upgrade (Marner?? or Nylander and D from TO with Van adding something else) that would be a gutsy and potentially rewarding deal. Move a part to get a part. Best assets are those coveted by others....
